Biggest mass celebration in Toronto’s history almost instantaneously greeted announcement of “VE-Day” yesterday, with crowds parading on foot and decorated cars loaded down to breaking point with whistle-blowers and flag wavers, many in uniform. Looking down from buildings, pavement appeared snow-covered.
