A toddy tapper walks on a rope between two coconut trees in Induruwa, about 40 kilometers south of Colombo, Sri Lanka. Toddy, sap of coconut palm, is mainly used to produce coconut arrack, an alcoholic beverage. To collect the sap, the flower bud is cut at the tip before it blossoms and a pot is hung to collect it. This traditional method of collecting toddy is becoming a rare scene largely due to non- availability of skilled hands.Gemunu Amarasinghe/AP Photo
