Visible from space, the smoke that chokes Ft. McMurray is the floating marker of destruction below.
Fleeing citizens have driven through it and pilots have flown through it to fight the wildfire that has burned 1600 homes and forced tens of thousands to flee.
Despite the disaster below there is a horrible beauty in these images.
