B.C. MLA's office hit with tar, feathers and excrement by vandals Add to ...

Vandals have targeted the constituency office of Shuswap MLA and Aboriginal Relations and Reconciliation Minister George Abbott.

Salmon Arm, B.C., RCMP Sergeant Kevin Keen says tar and feathers, mixed with human or animal excrement was plastered on the front of Mr. Abbott's Salmon Arm office.

Sgt. Keen says the number 666 was also spray-painted above Mr. Abbott's name.

Police were called to the office, in the southern Interior city about 450 kilometres northeast of Vancouver, Sunday morning.

Sgt. Keen says no arrests have been made and he has no information to suggest the attack was motivated by anger against the harmonized sales tax, due to take effect in B.C. in three days.

Mr. Abbott says he has no idea why his office was attacked but he says the incident "crosses the line" and he is "appalled and disappointed."
