Canada's premiers were in Victoria this week for Council of the Federation meetings and they brought their Twitter accounts.

Although there were the usual tweets about how "great" things were going – great tour, wrote B.C.'s Christy Clark; great discussions, added Alberta's Alison Redford – there were also entertaining posts.

Saskatchewan Premier Brad Wall used an appearance with the B.C. leader and Prince Edward Island's Robert Ghiz to reference Clark Griswold, Chevy Chase's character in the film Christmas Vacation. He tweeted, to chuckles from some of his 5,000-plus followers: "Some referring to this morning's press conf in Victoria as the Clark Ghizwall press conf. #nationallampoonsCOFedition"

The provincial leaders mostly used familiar hashtags when sending out their tweets – #bcpoli for this province, #onpoli for Ontario – but a few others tags appeared, including #cof12 for Council of Federation 2012.
