A B.C. resident who donated clothing to a local charity may have unwittingly given up a wallet full of cash that ended up at a thrift store in Coquitlam.

RCMP say employees at a Value Village were surprised to find the wallet stuffed with money among the clothing donation brought in on Feb. 6.

Cpl. Jamie Chung says the donations were recently collected by Big Brothers from more than 900 homes in the Coquitlam, Langley, Chilliwack, White Rock and Richmond areas.

There's no identification in the wallet, and police are urging the owner of the wallet to contact them as soon as possible.

Mounties must turn the money over to the Receiver General after 90 days from the date it was found.
