Noel Gallagher

Pop superstar and squabbling sibling Noel Gallagher says he wouldn't reform Oasis "if all the starving children in the world depended on it," but Britpop fans can catch some of the band's greatest hits, minus his brother Liam's half of the equation, as Noel's High Flying Birds join fellow Britpop luminaries Snow Patrol for a 14-date co-headlining tour.

Don't Look Back in Anger, Talk Tonight and Supersonic are a few of the Oasis tunes the High Flying Birds have been including in their sets, alongside stadium-sized anthems from their self-titled debut, which doesn't fall far from the battling brothers' trademark sound.

There's far less tabloid drama with fellow British music business stalwarts Snow Patrol, who found mega-fame when their heartstring-tugging single Chasing Cars played at the end of Grey's Anatomy's teary season-two finale, and have been touring with their latest, Fallen Empires. Famed front man Gary Lightbody also recently teamed up with Taylor Swift for a duet on her new album, Red.

So just how long does 45-year-old Noel Gallagher – who first formed Oasis when British superstar Adele was just three years old, and before their tour opener, Jake Bugg, was even born – plan on flying high?

"I don't see me doing long gruelling world tours like this. That's a young man's game," he told one reporter.

"But McCartney's still going. Neil Young is still going. We'll see how far McCartney and Neil and Bob Dylan take it, and that'll be the benchmark."
