Searchers are looking for a plane and its two occupants after the aircraft went missing during a flight from Penticton, B.C., to Edmonton.
Katelyn Moores, spokeswoman for the Victoria Joint Rescue Co-Ordination Centre, says the single-engine aircraft took off from Penticton around 2:30 p.m. Saturday.
She says a friend of someone on board reported the plane missing around 10:30 p.m. Saturday night.
The identities of the people on board have not been released.
Moores says searchers have been looking in an area around Revelstoke, northeast of Penticton, after the pilot's cellphone pinged in the area.
Two Parks Canada helicopters, a charter helicopter and a military helicopter from a base in Comox searched the area on Sunday, but low clouds kept four other aircraft from joining the efforts.
The search is scheduled to resume at dawn on Monday.
