A woman says she did not consent to a sex act in a Kamloops jail cell - and she's suing the jailers who watched the incident on closed-circuit TV, but did not intervene.

The woman, who does not wish to be named, was one of two observed having sex in the jail cell in August.

She says she was too drunk to know what was happening and is horrified and angry to learn that the other participant may be HIV positive.

The woman is suing the provincial and federal governments, the City of Kamloops and six unnamed men and an unidentified woman.
