Man put nut oil on allergic ex-lover's car, police say Add to ...

A Burlington man faces two charges after he allegedly rubbed a nut-based oil onto the car of his ex-fiancée, who is allergic to nuts.

On Monday, Jan. 12, the 49-year-old woman discovered an oily substance on her car, and cleaned it off soon after. She then began to feel ill, and was treated in hospital for an allergic reaction to nuts, Halton Police say.

When the man later approached the woman, she called police, who now say it was the man who applied the substance a week earlier.

Police this week charged her ex-fiancé with administering a noxious substance and criminal harassment.
