About 15 people were injured early today, three of them seriously, after a deck collapsed in the Halifax area.

Police, fire officials and paramedics were called to Green Village Lane in Dartmouth around 1:30 a.m.

Investigators say numerous people were on the deck when it collapsed four metres to the ground.

About 15 people were taken to hospital with injuries ranging from cuts to fractures.

Three people are in serious condition.

Police say the cause of the accident is under investigation.
