The increase in data visualizations is relying on viewers who can read and interpret complicated patterns, but kids are not being trained on how to be cautious and informed viewers. With graphs on the genealogy of rock music and the best beer in America available, learning how to look behind the pretty data doesn't have to be boring.

The mind wanders after sitting 15 minutes in a lecture and the periods of inattention get longer as the lecture continues. In this radio interview, Salman Khan argues that the passive learning style of lectures is at fault and students need to interact with each other.

A Georgia state bill has barred undocumented students out of the top five universities in the state and forced them to pay out-of-state tuition at other public colleges. In response, a students without legal status are attending Freedom University, named after civil-rights era schools.

Australia may fall behind in the competition for international students as students face overcrowded housing and even inadequate meals and abuse when they lodge with host families.
