Provincial police say it appears some people will go to any lengths to avoid arrest.
Caledon OPP say an officer saw a car travelling at high speed on Regional Road 50 on Tuesday morning, but the driver evaded police by making a sharp turn into a restaurant parking lot.
Police say the driver then went back onto Regional Road 50, collided with a van and a truck, fled the crash on foot and was seen entering a storm sewer.
Police determined there were no injuries in the collision, contained the sewer entrance and called in their urban search-and-rescue team.
The chemical, biological, and radiological team located and arrested a man hiding in the sewer, and he was taken to hospital as a precautionary measure.
Police say the incident is still under investigation and charges are pending.
