Looking for ways to make the practice of remembrance meaningful for students, the flag planting was inspired by the 3rd annual Operation Raise a Flag campaign at the Sunnybrook Veterans Centre with the students planting 300 trees in the Remembrance Garden. The school is the first to adopt the campaign and it is hoped that this simple act of remembrance will provide a special thank you and smiles to those who served our country.Fred Lum/The Globe and Mail
