Two young boys who had been missing north of Barrie, Ont., for more than 12 hours have been found.
Ontario Provincial Police say an Amber Alert for Tyson Fildey, 10 and Mason Fildey-Holyj, 5, has been lifted and both boys are alive and well.
Their grandfather Bruce Fildey says the boys told him they got lost in the dark.
"Maybe they'll tell me more later, but who cares. They're back," he says.
Elizabeth Fildey, the boys' cousin says the family spent a sleepless night searching.
"I was shaking, I'm so happy they're back," she says.
Local media reports say a township employee spotted the boys while driving down a rural road, then took them home to family.
The boys had wandered off, got lost and spent the night out in the cold sleeping in a field.
They are now in hospital to be checked out by doctors.
Police issued the alert at about 1 a.m. after the boys hadn't been seen since about 5 p.m. Thursday in the Springwater Township area.
The boys were playing near their home about 20 kilometres northwest of Barrie (on Rainbow Valley Road off Highway 26) when they were reported missing.
The police search had covered a rural area dotted with farms and wooded lots.
There had been concern over a pickup truck seen leaving the area very quickly.
