The number of customers without power in New Brunswick continues to dwindle after a week of outages that left thousands in the dark.
NB Power is reporting fewer than 2,400 outages, down from about 12,000 Saturday.
Most of the outages remain in the southwestern part of the province, with the hardest hit areas in Rothesay, Fredericton, St. Stephen and Sussex.
More than 50,000 customers lost their power last week after an ice storm.
Additional line and tree-trimming crews were sent to New Brunswick from the other Maritime provinces, Quebec and the United States to assist with efforts as Environment Canada warned of plunging temperatures and another winter storm that could hit the Maritimes by Thursday night.
Forecasters say a low-pressure system is expected to develop south of Cape Cod on Thursday morning and intensify as it tracks south of Nova Scotia on Friday.
