Durham regional police say Project Middleton began in late March after numerous people complained about prostitution activity in the Oshawa-area.

Police say the first wave of enforcement concentrated on sex workers flagging down prospective johns driving around south central Oshawa.

A total of 34 sex trade workers have been arrested, ranging in age from 19 to 68.

A total of 73 johns have been arrested so far, ranging in age from 30 to 78.

Most of the people involved are believed to be from the area.
