A 16-year-old boy, riding in a sled being towed by a snowmobile, was struck and killed by a train at a railway crossing in the northwestern Ontario community of Wabigoon.
The accident occurred Sunday while the snowmobile was pulling a sled across the tracks, provincial police said yesterday. The snow machine, being ridden by two other 16-year-old boys, managed to clear the tracks, but the sled was struck by a westbound train.
The two riders escaped without injury. No charges have been laid in the incident, but police said an investigation was continuing. CP
