Police gunfire erupted after a chase on a busy Calgary road and dents to several cruisers after they were rammed, according to a Calgary radio station.

Police told CHQR that officers confronted a man and a woman in a minivan early Sunday morning after getting word of a stolen vehicle.

The driver fled into oncoming traffic on the Deerfoot Trail and attempts were made to block the vehicle.

Some cruisers were rammed before an officer fired at the minivan, but no one was hit.

The woman, who was a passenger in the van, had to be cut out of the vehicle before she was taken for treatment of minor injuries.

There was no immediate word on charges.
