Police are investigating neo-Nazi symbols spray-painted on a park display in the community of Campbellford, northwest of Trenton.

A tourist stumbled upon the graffiti Friday on rocks in the central display of the park (behind the Trent Hills Municipal office on Grand Road).

Police say the yellow spray-painted graffiti includes swastikas and Ku Klux Klan insignia, but aren't sure when the vandalism occurred.

There are no immediate suspects but a provincial police hate crimes officer has been notified of the graffiti.

The incident comes almost two years after a man appeared at a Halloween party at Campbellford's Royal Canadian Legion wearing Ku Klux Klan robes and leading a man in blackface at the end of a rope.

The man won first prize for his costume, sparking an uproar that saw the legion temporarily closed and a flurry of apologies issued.
