Downtown of Grande Prairie, Alberta.

RCMP in the northwestern Alberta city of Grande Prairie say they are investigating a possible abduction.

Mounties say they received a complaint early this morning that a woman was heard screaming "help" and was seen being forced into a black Dodge pickup truck.

Officers found a skateboard-style running shoe with light blue laces, which they believe is related to the investigation.

No suspects or victim have been located, but RCMP say they are treating the matter seriously.

They ask that anyone who saw or heard anything – or who may have a friend or family member accounted for – to please contact police.

They also ask that those involved come forward if the incident is a misunderstanding.
