A 46-year-old Regina man has been killed while vacationing in Mexico.

A Foreign Affairs spokesman confirmed on Friday night that Duane Joseph Lang, 46, was killed in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, on July 28, but refused to divulge the circumstances.

"The Canadian Embassy in Mexico City and the Canadian Consular Agency in Puerto Vallarta are in contact with local authorities to gather additional information," spokesman Ian Trites said in an e-mail.

Mr. Lang was a business partner at the family-operated Lang Insurance company, where he worked for 25 years with his father and sister, according to an obituary published online. He was a frequent visitor to Mexico.
