Game Planit, producer of products to educate consumers and operaters on ethical gaming, have developed the following tools in order to explain the inner workings of slot machines and similar games of chance to problem gamblers. They were developed by the President of Game Planit, Roger Horbay, who is a seasoned manager, electronic gaming machine expert, problem gambling specialist, trainer and researcher. He agreed to share them with Globe readers.

In 1998, Game Planit developed the first comprehensive educational modules for use on Video Lottery Terminals based on empirical data into problem gambling risk factors. The safe@play Customer Assistance Software was designed to meet operators' duty-of-care obligations by providing players with a base level of information and warnings for player protection.

In the fall of 2001, Game Planit released the safe@play Slot Machine tutorial. It revealed game features and attempted to teach people how Slot Machines work, from the fundamentals to the advanced.
