The consent form that the Personal Genome Project - Canada intends to give its volunteers outlines the steps prospective donors will take to participate in the project. Parts of the consent form are fascinating; it makes donors aware, for example, of the possibility that someone could make a synthetic version of their DNA and plant it at a crime scene or that participation may reveal to the subject or a member of the subject's family the possibility of a disease or unknown propensity for a disease.
