Police have made two more arrests in connection with the beating death of Don Jail inmate Kevon Phillip, bringing the count of those charged to six.

Two men were charged with second-degree murder Monday, the arrests made less than a month after a fourth man was arrested and given the same charge.

Mr. Phillip was found unconscious on a floor in the Don Jail around 3:35 p.m. Jan. 2, 2010, police said. He was rushed to hospital where he succumbed to his life threatening injuries and became the city's first homicide victim of the year.

Hussein Nur, 21, Abdifatah Mohamed, 20, both of Toronto, face one count each of second-degree murder. They are scheduled to appear in a Toronto court on Wednesday.
