Several members of a sea-lion herd got tangled up in plastic debris and had to be rescued by workers from the Vancouver Aquarium and other agencies. The animals were tranquillized so that the debris could be removed from their necks. A veterinarian said plastic packing straps are one of the most common causes of injury.
