Three Asian elephants Kamala, Swarna and Maharani arrived safely at the Smithsonian’s National Zoo in Washington, on May 23. The elephants are on loan from the Calgary Zoo in Alberta, Canada, and will join the Zoo’s herd of four Asian elephants. The trio took a 60-hour, 2,500-mile international trip to get to their new homes.
