The bill for Alison Redford's final trip as premier of Alberta has come in at $131,000.
That's $11,000 more than the original estimate for the two-week trade mission and networking trip to India and Switzerland, with a stopover in London in between.
Most of the money, about $101,000, went to flying Redford and her team of two MLAs and four members of her inner circle.
In the final week, Redford and her executive assistant Brad Stables travelled to Switzerland for the World Economic Forum.
The trip included two days in Afghanistan, but renewed violence in the war-torn country made the weekend visit untenable.
Instead, Redford spent the weekend in London and – according to the government – while those flights were picked up by the taxpayer, all other London costs were borne personally by Redford.
