Liberal Leader Michael Ignatieff speaks to reporters in Ottawa on Dec. 6, 2010.Sean Kilpatrick/The Canadian Press

Is the leadership of the Liberal Party of Canada so disconnected from reality and innocent fun that a "senior Ignatieff official" felt it necessary to criticize Stephen Harper's music festival last night by bemoaning the fact the PM didn't sing a French song? Wow. Pathetic.

When Michael Ignatieff made a crack about airport pat downs he rightly got some credit for showing his human side. Apparently though he and some of his team have morphed backed into alien forms unable to appreciate a PM letting his guard down enjoying a bit of Christmas frivolity. Who are the Tories now? Remember that political party that fun forgot?

Perhaps there is something more devious at play on Planet Liberal. Maybe this a prelude to Liberal tough-on-crime policy that would see a ban on unilingual karaoke.

Is it really any wonder the Liberals have slipped in recent polls? They just don't connect with people. From Question Periods focused on issues no one is talking about to framing today's debate on song selection these guys have been hapless lately.

There are always things to criticize a government about - this one included - but the PM not singing Mitsou is not one of them. Mitsou is best left to the archives of Video Hits.

Bob Rae, you have done your last skinny dip with Rick Mercer! Only anonymous asses baring humourless commentary need expose themselves as Liberals.
