Flaherty and the Ford brothers head to Chicago

Finance Minister Jim Flaherty, Toronto Mayor Rob Ford and Doug Ford are spending some quality time in Chicago.

The trio – Rob Ford was seen leaving Toronto City Hall with a green gym bag  – are expected to spend the weekend as Parliament returns Monday after a week-long break.

A spokesman for Mr. Flaherty said the minister's trip was personal and would not comment.

Mr. Flaherty endorsed Mr. Ford's Toronto mayoral candidacy in 2010.

Mr. Flaherty's long-standing family friendship with the Fords dates back to Doug Ford Sr., father of Rob and Doug, and his stint as a provincial Tory MPP under Mike Harris.
