Toronto music had a banner year in 2015, but now it's out with the old and in with the new. Here are four highly anticipated albums from local artists coming early in 2016.
Jason Collett's Song and Dance Man (Feb. 5): The singer-songwriter's sixth album, produced by Bahamas' Afie Jurvanen, promises engaging melody and age-earned wisdom.
Sate's Red, Black & Blue (release date unconfirmed): Fronted by fiery Saidah Baba Talibah, Sate's sound is being touted as "Tina Turner fronting Black Sabbath." Whoa!
Drake's Views From the 6 (release date unconfirmed): The hip-hop superstar said in the fall that the arrival of his area-code-specific opus was "imminent." So by the time you're reading this, it might be too late.
Basia Bulat's Good Advice (Feb. 12): We can't wait to hear what kind of advice the graceful, Etobicoke-bred, indie-folk warbler gets from her friend Jim James, the My Morning Jacket frontman who produced this album.
