Cassim Celani Cummings, 20, charged by Toronto police in a stabbing on a TTC train in February, 2013.

A 20-year-old Toronto man charged with stabbing a stranger on a subway train last month was back in court Tuesday on fresh charges, also involving apparently random attacks.

In separate incidents occurring Feb. 1 and Feb. 12, Cassim Celani Cummings is alleged to have grabbed and choked a man at Finch subway station, and punched a security guard in the face at the North York Civic Centre.

Mr. Cummings was already in custody accused of stabbing a 35-year-old man in a subway carriage as it neared the Davisville station. He was arrested after his image, captured on a Toronto Transit Commission closed-circuit camera, was widely circulated, and he faces seven charges stemming from that incident, including attempted murder.

He now faces three more charges – two counts of assault, and one count of threatening bodily harm.

Anyone with information about any of the three incidents is being asked to contact police at 416-808-3200, or anonymously via Crime Stoppers at 416 222-8477 (TIPS).
