One man is injured after a shooting at Toronto’s Yorkdale mall early Saturday morning. It’s the second shooting at the shopping centre in less than two months.
Toronto Police said they received a call shortly after midnight that a man had been shot through the window of a restaurant.
The victim was rushed to hospital where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Police are looking for two suspects and a silver, newer model Honda CRV seen fleeing the scene shortly after the shooting.
The shopping centre said in a statement that Joey restaurant will be closed until further notice for police investigation, but the mall was open for regular business hours.
There is no information yet on whether Saturday’s shooting was connected to a shooting at the mall on March 30. Michael Nguyen, 23, was shot and killed and another man was wounded in the mall’s parking lot in what police said was a gang-related targeted attack. Police are still looking for suspects in that case.
