Mayor Rob Ford will be back from rehab June 30 or July 1, his brother and campaign manager Councillor Doug Ford said on the radio Friday.
Councillor Ford co-hosted the Live Drive with Ryan Doyle on NewsTalk 1010 on behalf of the embattled mayor, who has spent the past several weeks receiving treatment for "problems with alcohol" in a rehab facility in Muskoka. Other mayoral candidates were on the show earlier this week.
The mayor took a temporary leave of absence after The Globe revealed the existence of a second videotape that appears to show the mayor smoking crack cocaine.
Councillor Ford said Mr. Ford will be a healthier person when returns, putting the demons behind him and focusing on the election.
"He's going to have four months to show the people that he's moving forward, he's changed in personal ways," said Councillor Ford on the Mayor's forthcoming return.
When asked about how the Mayor plans to fund his subway plans for Finch and Sheppard, Councillor Ford said he was not at liberty to divulge that part of his brother's platform.
"Rob will be releasing the transportation plan later on," he said.
