Ontario looser liquor laws in effect as of June 1 Add to ...

It won't be illegal any more to take a drink outside a beer tent when visiting an Ontario festival, starting next Wednesday.

It's among promised changes to liquor laws being put into effect in time for summer.

Servers will be allowed to carry drinks on public sidewalks to licensed areas such as patios.

And liquor hours for weddings and charity events are being extended until 2 a.m.
