RCMP cordon off a crime scene using police tape

Freshly released videotape images of a woman sought in a particularly brutal murder on the east side last year will lead to her arrest, the Toronto homicide squad hopes.

Its target is Ashley Andrews, 28, wanted on a Canada-wide arrest warrant for being an accessory after the fact in the death of George Fawell and on two counts of attempting to obstruct justice.

The body of Mr. Fawell, 24, was discovered Aug. 24 on railway tracks behind the Jimmie Simpson Community Centre near Queen Street East and Broadview Avenue.

He had sustained multiple stab wounds, his hands were tied behind his back and police said at the time the injuries displayed an unusual level of violence,

Earlier this month another woman, Lori Ann Crook, 39, of Toronto was charged with first-degree murder and forcible confinement.

Detectives believe Ms. Andrews is still in the Toronto area.

Anyone with information about her should contact the homicide squad at 416-808-7400, or anonymously via Crime Stoppers at 416 222 TIPS.
