Toronto police have released the name and photograph of the city's newest homicide victim.

The body of Henry Pratt, 24, was found early Thursday when detectives responding to a trouble call went to an apartment on San Romano Way, just northeast of the Jane-Finch intersection.

The cause of death was not disclosed.

Mr. Pratt, who was known to police, was the city's 41st homicide victim so far this year. In a YouTube clip, Detective Rob North has issued an appeal for information that might identify the killer or killers.

Separately, police from 23 Division and the homicide squad will be canvassing door to door Sunday in the Rexdale neighbourhood, seeking witnesses and tips in the unsolved double slaying last month of Suleiman Ali and Warsame Ali, both 26.

The bodies of the two men, who were unrelated, were found Sept. 18 sprawled on a pathway in the Jamestown Crescent-John Garland Boulevard area.

They were homicide victims numbers 39 and 40 respectively.
