A female student at the University of Toronto's Mississauga campus was sexually assaulted in her school residence after a man broke through an unlocked window at night, police say.

The assault occurred around 4 a.m. Tuesday at one of the female residences on the south side of the campus, Peel Regional Police said.

The 19-year-old victim was awaked by the break-in and, when she approached the suspect, was sexually assaulted before he fled.

She sustained no physical injuries, police said.

The suspect is described as a white man in his twenties, about 5-foot-5, wearing a hooded sweatshirt and a knitted hat.
