Union head representing Toronto's outside workers to step down

The head of the union that represents Toronto's outside workers will be stepping down in the fall.

Mark Ferguson, president of CUPE Local 416, says he will not seek re-election.

The latest contract negotiated with the city in February contained several concessions.

Subsequent agreements with inside workers included concessions as well.

Mr. Ferguson says the city is committed to cutting services and employees.

He says the union will work to push back on those attempts.
