Mexico will soon charge suspects, among them former high-ranking officials, for an attack on student protesters 33 years ago that left about 25 dead, a federal prosecutor said yesterday. The investigation into the so-called Corpus Christi massacre is "practically complete," with charges due by July 15, the special prosecutor said. Investigators say a paramilitary band called had at least tacit approval from the government when it descended with guns, clubs and chains on thousands of demonstrators on June 10, 1971. Reuters
