Explainer: how Canada deployed the DART to the Philippines

DART specializes in basic medical care, water purification, basic infrastructure repairs including roads and electricity, and streamlining communications systems for aid efforts. The full complement of the rapid-response team is 200 Canadian Forces personnel. DART is heading to Iloilo, one of two major cities on the island of Panay that was in the direct path of Typhoon Haiyan.
