World Photography Day: From Daguerre to digital Add to ...

On Aug. 19, 1839, the French government announced that it had bought the patent to the photographic process invented by Louis Daguerre and was making it available to all. Each year, World Photography Day marks the anniversary with images posted to its website by photographers from around the world. Here is a sample of this year's submissions.
