On May 4, as part of its ongoing coverage of World Press Freedom Day, The Globe and Mail will devote the Opinion Section of our print edition to examining the state of press freedom around the world. We invite letter writers to share their views on the role of a free press, and will publish a cross-section of responses in the Letters to the Editor section on May 4. Letters addressing the role of a free press should be submitted no later than April 29, and be kept under 200 words. Letters to the editor must include a name and city of residence. E-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org
We also encourage subscribers to discuss this topic in the comments on this article and will publish a special edition of From the Comments featuring top contributions on May 4. Please note, that in order to be considered for the paper, comments must also be submitted via email and include a name and city of residence.
