First Prize: Leslie Ricciardi was born in Montevideo, Uruguay, in 1961. Winner of countless cartooning prizes, his work has been published in the daily ‘El Païs’ (Montevideo) and ‘La Naćion’ (Buenos Aires). Second Prize: Dale Cummings was born in St. Thomas, Ont., 1947. He studied animation and illustration at Sheridan College in Oakville and freelanced animation and illustration in Toronto from the early 70’s until 1982. Third Prize: Peter Chmela is a graphic designer based in Bratislava, Slovakia, who works for clients in the cultural and social field. He was born in the small town of Dunajska Streda in 1984. During his graphic design studies in Zlin, Czech Republic, he participated in an internship at the R2 studio in Porto, Portugal. After his studies, he worked for his graphic design hero, Stefan Sagmeister, in his studio in New York.Peter Chmela
