Pallister calls for flexibility from Ottawa as Manitoba considers a carbon tax

Premier Brian Pallister is dangling the possibility of imposing a carbon tax in Manitoba as he simultaneously warns Ottawa to be flexible if Manitoba is to continue its role as a bridge to the west. After a meeting with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau during the cabinet retreat in Winnipeg, Pallister said there will be ongoing dialogue around a made-in-Manitoba green plan that will include a carbon price.
