Trudeau talks abortion rights; Scheer eyes interprovincial trade; Singh defends party

Justin Trudeau is promising that a re-elected Liberal government would ensure that provinces meet their obligation to fund out-of-hospital abortions. Trudeau made the pledge today in New Brunswick, where the province's Progressive Conservative government is refusing to fund surgical abortion procedures at private clinics. Meanwhile, Andrew Scheer said a Conservative government would meet with premiers to push for a news interprovincial free trade agreement. And NDP leader Jagmeet Singh pushed back at the suggestion that casting a ballot for the New Democrats is a dangerous thing to do and said the party promises to defend the best interests of Canadians "in whatever form the government takes" on Oct. 21.
