Investor buyers expressed the most interest in the site, but the seller, an active community member, developed a good rapport with one bidder who intended to live in the house and accepted a bid $790,000.
“The seller didn’t want another person coming in and making it a triplex and bringing in rental properties,” agent Linda Mash said. “She really wanted somebody that would be there and still work with the community, helping people, and hopefully that’s what the new buyers will do.”
What they got
This 97-year-old house about 60 kilometres east of downtown Toronto has had several recent upgrades, including new roof shingles, windows, operating systems, and drywall added in 2010.
