Beaconsfield two-bedroom draws several offers Add to ...

LISTING AGENT Julie Kinnear, Royal LePage Real Estate Services Ltd.

The Action: Deep in the heart of Beaconsfield Village, this two-bedroom townhouse was tricky to price, with one fewer bedrooms than most in comparison. Yet it still earned a steady stream of visitors, including nearly two dozen during the open house, and several strong offers.

What They Got: This 1,120-square-foot Victorian preserves its original brick façade, stained-glass windows and hardwood floors dating to the 1890s, but was also modified with modern mechanics and materials after 2010.

The main floor retains formal living and dining areas and a renovated kitchen outfitted with tiled floors, granite counters and stainless steel appliances, as well as access to a 560-square-foot basement and a private stone patio and an English garden.

On the second floor, one bedroom was partly opened to the hallway and a third bedroom replaced with laundry facilities and a spa-like, four-piece bathroom.

There is vehicular access behind the 13-by-70-foot lot, but no parking, which is common for the area.

The Agent’s Take: “It was a cute Victorian, but it had only two bedrooms,” agent Julie Kinnear said.

“But it’s slightly more traditional because they had kept the walls, so you had a separate living room, dining room and kitchen, which is nice for having dinner parties.”

More important, many professionals were attracted to the property’s proximity to hot new hangouts on surrounding streets, such as Queen Street West and Ossington Avenue. “It’s a pretty cool location in Beaconsfield,” Ms. Kinnear adds. “Lots of people ride their bikes to work, or walk, or work from home.”
