The Action: This two-bedroom bungalow could be toured virtually, but serious buyers ventured out to Swansea in person via showings and an open house for a closer look. One buyer’s pre-emptive offer was challenged by seven others willing to participate in a bidding war. The one accepted was $169,000 over the list price.

What They Got: This brick bungalow displays original details, such as wood trims, hardwood floors and leaded glass windows, which survived two renovations in the past decade.

The sellers redid the basement with two carpeted bedrooms and a recreation room since previous owners revamped the main floor, where there is a fireside living room, a dining area with wainscotting, separate kitchen and one of two bathrooms.

Exterior attributes include one-car parking, a private south-facing backyard and a 30-by-110-foot lot.

The Agent’s Take: “It’s a jewel of an area between Armadale and South Kingsway, just a couple blocks from the subway at Jane and Bloor,” real estate agent Andrea Morrison said. “There hasn’t been a lot of product, so there was pent-up demand for anything that came on.”

This home’s artful mix of classic and contemporary decor was its finest trait. “It has the gorgeous charm of a 1930s bungalow with gumwood [trims] and leaded glass windows,” Ms. Morrison said. “And it was a detail-oriented client who renovated the basement.”
