LISTING AGENT Paul Albrighton, Macdonald Realty

The Action: The 15-year-old Metropolis tower in downtown Vancouver is one of the few to offer two-level lofts, so listing agent Paul Albrighton received two offers within 15 days. The sellers bought the unit in 2010 and did renovations over three years. They sold this month for $106,500 more than their purchase price.

What They Got: The 954-square-foot unit has only one bedroom, which made it a bit of a challenge, says Mr. Albrighton. But the unit is large, bright and airy, with two bathrooms and 16-foot ceilings, so the selling features outweighed the shortage of bedrooms.

The Agent's Take: "The price point was high for a one-bedroom condo in the neighbourhood," he says. "But it's hard to find a two-level loft, and most are in smaller boutique-style, low-rise buildings." The unit also has views of False Creek and is close to trendy shopping and restaurant district Yaletown.
